Joining Forces is pleased to be one of 8 artists selected for the Melbourne Art Trams Project. A collaboration between Melbourne Festival, Yarra Trams and Arts Victoria, this terrific project is a re-imagining of the Art Trams in the 70’s, which included artists such as Mirka Mora, Howard Arkley and Michael Leunig.
The selected Joining Forces artwork was the 5.5 m painting created for the group show earlier in the year. We photographed the canvas and stitched the photos together to create a digital version of the artwork, which was then printed onto vinyl and wrapped on the tram.
The Joining Forces Art Tram will run for 6 months along the 70 and 75 lines in Melbourne, and can be tracked using the Tram Tracker app (tram number 259). More press on the project can be found here: The Age, ABC Arts, artsHub and Herald Sun.

We had the pleasure of watching the tram being wrapped and prepared before it began operation.
